Abbreviated Instructions for your Residence
ALARM
SYSTEM ABBREVIATED INSTRUCTIONS
ARMING THE SYSTEM:
1.
Make sure you have a green ready light. This indicates everything is closed.
2. Enter
your 4-digit code. Make sure the red armed light – lights. – OR -
3.
Press and HOLD the STAY button for 3 seconds if you are staying in the
house.
4.
Press and HOLD the AWAY button for 3 seconds if you are leaving the
house.
5.
You must exit within 30 seconds through a delay door.
THE
LAST PERSON TO LEAVE THE HOUSE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ARMING THE SECURITY SYSTEM!!! When you
are the first one in or the last one out, you must use either the front door or
the garage door (next to the keypad) when arming or disarming the alarm.
DISARMING THE SYSTEM:
1.
Enter your 4-digit code; make sure the red armed light goes out. When you are
entering the premise, you will hear a tone from the keypad to remind you to
disarm the system.
PANIC
BUTTONS:
There
are 3 “panic buttons” on the keypad. They are active 24 hours a day. You must
press both sides (horizontally) & hold for 3 seconds to activate the alarm.
The first button is for FIRE. The second button is for RESCUE
(Paramedics Response). The third button is for POLICE.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1.
If you make an error while entering a code, press the pound sign “#”, then
re-enter your code. This will clear the keypad and allow for another entry.
2.
If you set off the Burglary Alarm, the phone will ring, answer and identify
yourself by name & PASSCODE (word, sometimes this may be a number) to the
operator to cancel the alarm.
3.
If there is any other priority alarm (ie: Fire, Panic, Medical) that was
tripped accidentally, please call us immediately at the central station number
below.
4.
If you have a trouble light on, please refer to the owner’s manual for an
explanation of specific trouble conditions or call our office for assistance.
NO GREEN LIGHT:
1.
Press the right arrow key “>” until you see the zone number & description
of the zone that is not allowing the system to give a green light. Secure that
area and you should now have a green light.
ALARM MEMORY:
1. After an alarm has occurred, an alarm memory message in the keypad will be displayed, the next time you arm the system, this will disappear.
