GARDALL Mechanical Dial Lock

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

 

BEFORE USING YOUR SAFE:

 

Your safe has been constructed by skilled craftsmen with the highest quality materials available and is equipped with a precision quality security lock. Never use force on the lock or door handle.

 

Operate the combination lock several times with door open to become familiar with its operation. Don't spin dial under any circumstance. Always rotate dial slowly, and make certain you stop dial exactly on the combination numbers. If you pass a number mark, start over from the beginning.

 

When you are familiar with the combination lock, recall how operation felt. If you should experience a change or different feel of operation, DO NOT LOCK SAFE. Contact the installing company.

 

COMBINATION INSTRUCTIONS

 

 

TO UNLOCK SAFE:

 

1. Turn LEFT, stopping when  ??  comes the FOURTH time to the index mark at top of dial.

 

2. Turn RIGHT, stopping when  ??  comes the THIRD time to the index mark at top of dial.

 

3. Turn LEFT, stopping when  ??  comes the SECOND time to the index mark at top of dial.

 

4. Turn full RIGHT slowly until dial reaches positive stopping point.

 

5. The door is now ready to pull open. Turn the door handle in a counter-clockwise direction and pull door open.

 

 

TO LOCK SAFE:

 

1. Close door and turn handle clockwise to the locked position.

2. Turn dial to the LEFT at least FOUR revolutions.

 

WARNING: Never slam door. Do not close door with lock bolts in extended position.

 

 

 

MAINTENANCE

 

Although you safe has been manufactured to the highest quality standards and is expected to give a long life of good service, a certain amount of maintenance should be performed on a regular basis.

1. The bolt bars that move in and out of safe door should be lubricated once a year with a lightweight lock lubricant.

2. After warranty, lock should be serviced by a qualified safe man or locksmith every two years.
